Stena Line has two terminals in Gothenburg, one heading to Kiel, Germany and this terminal for travellers heading to Frederikshavn, Denmark. The Denmark terminal is further east on the Göta River close to the Masthugget District. The terminal is well signposted from the E6 and can also be reached by tram.
Please note: Boarding is only possible by vehicle for departures outside terminal opening hours or for departures onboard Stena Vinga. Boarding as a foot passenger is not possible on these departures.
Important information for Foot Passengers
Foot passenger travel is only possible between 27 June and 14 August 2023. Outside of these dates you cannot travel as a foot passenger from Halmstad or Grenaa.
The port of Halmstad on Sweden's west coast is very easy to reach by road with motorway access from the north, south and east. The town is also accessible by train and bus with a shuttle bus available for foot passengers from the station to the terminal.
If you are travelling on foot, you must go to Halmstad Central Station and check-in at one of our check-in kiosks to get your boarding pass. Please show your boarding pass together with your ID documentation before getting on the Stena Line bus that will take you to the ferry. The bus is wheelchair accessible.
Please note: You must be at Halmstad Central Station at least 60 minutes before departure to get on the bus that will take you directly to the ferry. It is not possible to board the ferry or the bus at the port. The bus cannot stop and pick up passengers once it has departed. All bookings must be made online because it is not possible to buy tickets at the port before scheduled departures.
The port of Trelleborg is the southernmost in Sweden and is known as the gateway between Scandinavia and Central Europe. It is easily accessible on foot from the centre of Trelleborg or by bus, train or by car.

Karlskrona port on Sweden's south-east coast is easily accessible via motorway. Karlskrona has excellent transport links however, as the port is situated on a different island to the main part of the town, a taxi or bus trip is required to access the port for rail and foot passengers.
Notice to foot & bicycle passengers on Stena Estelle & Stena Ebba: Due to ongoing construction in Karlskrona, foot & bicycle passengers will be transported between our terminal and Stena Estelle or Stena Ebba by bus. For passengers arriving in Karlskrona from Gdynia, the exiting process could take up to 1 hour. Please take this into consideration when travelling. Bicycles will be transported to and from the ferry by our crew, and will be available to pick up in the terminal on arrival. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Our ferries depart from the new Norvik Terminal which is 4km (10 minutes drive) from the centre of Nynäshamn. There are several taxi services to the new terminal from the rail/bus station.
