National Museum Cardiff is home to the largest collection of Impressionist art outside of Paris, while the Museum of Cardiff takes you from the city’s roots in the 14th century right up to the present day. You’ll also find a wealth of alternative and edgy culture and creativity in the form of film, art and theatre at the Chapter Arts Centre.
The city’s once hiving docklands have now been transformed into a state-of-the-art waterfront, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle – while nearby you’ll find the architectural wonder that is Wales Millennium Centre. You might recognise it from the TV and, in terms of landmarks, it’s often compared to the Sydney Opera House, such is its iconic status.
