What precautions are being employed to ensure that our ferries and port terminal buildings are cleaned sufficiently?
At Stena Line aafety always comes first.
In an extraordinary situation like this, we rely on the manuals and routines. Our staff and crews are highly trained for many different types of situations, including diseases.
We are constantly in contact with the local authorities in the 10 countries where we operate and we ensure that we follow restrictions from them and established health organisations.
On-board our ferries and in our terminal buildings, we are taking precautionary measures to prevent any spread of the Coronavirus including:
- Increased frequency of preventive cleaning and disinfection of all hand contact point hotspots such as door handles, access touch pads, counter tops, tables, phones etc. These are fully sanitized after each sailing and/or at least three times a day on longer crossings
- Increased possibilities for hand washing and disinfection placed in our public areas
- Provision of comprehensive information on hygienic measures based on the World Health Organisation’s guidelines
- Stena Line's employees on-board are trained in how to deal with any suspected cases of coronavirus and our ships are equipped with medical equipment
