We acknowledge that Coronavirus COVID-19 has caused increased uncertainty. We are giving the issue our fullest attention and the safety of our customers and colleagues is paramount. We are taking several safety measures to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for all. We will do everything we can to assist you with your upcoming travel plans.

Information on Travel to Denmark, Germany Poland & Latvia

 

The authorities in certain countries where we operate have implemented various restrictions that will affect our routes and traffic. The following information will help to explain how these restrictions may affects you and your booking with Stena Line.


Ferries to Denmark

Denmark has announced new travel restrictions which will take effect on 14.03.2020 at 12:00. These restrictions are valid until 31.07.2020 (subject to change).


Fredrikshavn - Gothenburg
Stena Danica will be out of service from 23.03.2020 - 31.07.2020.

Stena Jutlandica will operate a revised timetable from 23.3.2020 - 31.07.2020. Only freight and passengers who have a valid reason to travel to Denmark will be allowed to travel until 13.04.2020. The Danish authorities will review the reason for travel upon arrival in Denmark and act appropriately.

Stena Vinga will operate a revised timetable from 23.03.2020 - 31.07.2020. During this period it will not be possible to travel without a vehicle. Only freight and passengers who have a valid reason to travel to Denmark will be allowed to travel until 31.07.2020. The Danish authorities will review the reason for travel upon arrival in Denmark and act appropriately.


Grenaa - Halmstad
Stena Nautica will operate a revised timetable from 23.03.2020 - 31.07.2020. Departures on Saturdays have been canceled and travel without a vehicle is not possible.Only freight and passengers who have a valid reason to travel to Denmark will be allowed to travel until 31.07.2020. The Danish authorities will review the reason for travel upon arrival in Denmark and act appropriately.

All affected bookings will be transferred to a suitable departure without incurring any additional costs, All customers will be notified of the change in booking via email. You can change your booking online at no extra cost and but any charges incurred for the new departure must be paid in full as per our Terms & Conditions. Please amend your existing booking here.

Ferry to Poland

We will continue to operate scheduled passenger and freight traffic on our Gdynia - Karlskrona route. We will make every effort possible to ensure that passengers can return to Sweden and Poland. Our ferries will continue to operate according to the original schedules from 18.03.2020 - 31.07.2020.


Please Note: Poland has imposed travel restrictions on entering the country. All passengers must undergo medical examination including, temperature checks and a health check declaration. Polish nationals returning to the country must undergo my compulsory 14-day quarantine. There are special restrictions on the entry of foreign nationals entering Poland. To prevent the spread of coronavirus, we are introducing a mandatory cabin reservation for all passengers on day and night sailings. Passenger transport may change and restrictions may continue to apply until further notice.


Who can enter Poland

  • Foreign nationals who are married or have children with a Polish citizen
  • Foreign nationals who have Polish nationality as a Trusted Man or Authorized Agent
  • Foreign nationals holding a Polish identity card (Karta Polaka)
  • Diplomats and their families
  • Foreign nationals who have been granted a Polish residency permit
  • Foreign nationals holding a Polish work permit
  • Foreign nationals who are engaged in the occupation of freight or passenger
  • Foreign nationals who are professional drivers for freight and passenger transport

Exception to the Polish 14-day quarantine Rules

  • Foreign Nationals who live near the Polish land border (not sea border) and who work in Poland
  • Polish citizens living near the Polish land border (not sea border) and work in another country and cross the Polish border
  • Professional freight and passenger transport drivers who cross the border for work

To prevent the spread of coronavirus, we are introducing a mandatory cabin reservation for all passengers on day and night sailings. We recommend staying in your cabin for the duration of the voyage if it is not necessary to use the now reduced ship services. You will be made aware of any new rules, regulations and restrictions in relation to passenger ferry travel.


It is possible to make changes to existing bookings free of charge until 31.07.2020. Any charges incurred for the new departure will be wavered. Please amend your existing booking here.

Ferries to Germany

Sassnitz - Trelleborg

This route is now closed, please book Rostock - Trelleborg as an alternative route.


Rostock - Trelleborg

Our ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg continues to operate as scheduled. From Monday 23.03.2020, the maximum number of passengers onboard our ferries on this route will be limited to 299. The onboard shop and restaurants will be opened for a limited time.


Gothenburg - Kiel

Our ferry from Gothenburg-Kiel will continue to operate as scheduled. From Tuesday 17.03.2020, the maximum number of passengers onboard our ferries on this route will be limited to 299. All entertainment has been cancelled and the buffet restaurant will be closed. Passengers will be able to purchased in the à la carté restaurant. Shop opening times will be limited.


Ferries to Latvia

Latvian authorities will close its borders on 17.03.2020 until 31.07.2020. During this time it is not possible to travel by ferry to Latvia. New restrictions on cargo transportation are handled by the Stena Line Freight Department. Please amend your existing booking here.
